- Started May 21Started May 21
Layne Redmond, frame drum artist and pioneer, was heavily influenced by the traditions of the Egyptian mazhar (tambourine) in creating her unique world-music style. We'll learn simple strokes and techniques on Egyptian-style tambourines through Layne's singular approach of "a musical discipline within a spiritual framework." We'll also explore ancient Egyptian images and teachings from Layne's ground-breaking book, When the Drummers Were Women.
