Spring 2010

"Woman Reaching"
May 12 - 16, 2010

event logo women dancing "Be the Change"

Women have long been left out of the Divine's power structure in organized religion, but that doesn't mean that women have no place in The Divine's power structure.  It just means that the boys felt it necessary to hang a "No Girlz" sign on church door when they wrote their "rulz".  Judging by the results of this patriarchy, it is time for women to stand up and take our place in this world.

I believe that women can save the world.  I believe that now is an amazing time in the history of communication, and that we could, conceivably, have indirect access to almost every person on this planet.  I believe women can save the world by communicating.  I believe that women think differently than men do-- not the opposite of men, but completely differently.  I believe that women's ways of doing things could sidestep the men's constructs and make things work.  I believe that, given the right circumstances and support, the women of the Middle East could stop those wars quickly.  I want women to start having conversations about how to fix education and health care and the food supply and all of that.  Gather the women and save the world.

I believe it is our time, Women, to take our place in the world and do what we do best.  We will get there by being prepared, and to do that, we must get to know ourselves, what it means to be a woman, what we really are capable of, and what we have to offer.

One of our most popular Saturday evening activities is the traditional Saturday night Womenspirit Cabaret. Provide entertainment or just join in the applause. Be it poetry, song, music, dance, or performance art, all are welcome in this safe, fun, supportive environment.
