Gaia, the ancient Greek mother goddess, is one of the oldest known representatives of the Divine Feminine. Gaia symbolizes our connection to the earth and serves as a modern representation of the peaceful interrelation between the earth and all her creatures. During the Fall 2010 event, we will explore the myth of Gaia, and other ancient goddesses, to draw upon and enhance our own experience with the Divine Feminine.

During the Institute portion of the event, we will study volume one of the recently-revised Cakes For the Queen of Heaven curriculum, facilitated by long-time Womenspirit member Barbara Green. This program seeks to raise awareness of the stories and symbols of the ancient world where females were respected and celebrated. Through worship services and the Gathering workshops, we will continue our exploration of Gaia and other goddesses, whose myths of strength, perseverance and peace continue to empower us today. We hope you will join us.

Registration

The brochure will provide information about the tracks and workshops as well as details about the event such as how to register, the lodging, food, sales and activities, etc.

ATTENTION!  The Mantra: Reclaiming Our Voice of Peace workshop being offered by Katrina Ray has been canceled due to a family emergency.  In its place, Tarleton Brooks will be offering a Dance of the Goddess workshop for Saturday afternoon during the Gathering.

Institute

The Institute offers 60 women an intimate and intensive environment in which to explore life's journeys, joys and experiences. We will gather for meals, worship rituals and a wide variety of evening activities. Institute Registration begins at 3:00pm on Wednesday.

Gathering

The Gathering begins on Friday evening as our numbers and energy swell to as many as 120 women. For Saturday, you may choose either an all-day, or two half-day workshops covering a spectrum of subjects. We will again gather for meals, worship rituals, and a wide variety of evening activities. The Gathering registration begins at 3:00pm on Friday afternoon, followed by Social Hour at 5:00 to give the 100 plus women a chance to introduce themselves to one another. One of our most popular Saturday evening activities is the traditional Saturday night Womenspirit Cabaret. Provide entertainment or just join in the applause. Be it poetry, song, music, dance, or performance art, all are welcome in this safe, fun, supportive environment.

Sacred Sales

Anyone attending the event may request space to sell woman-made creations or items from her woman-owned business. Artists keep 90% of the sales and give 10% to UUWS. Please download the sales agreement and send it in with your registration. Space is limited so sign up early. You will be responsible for selling your items during the scheduled times.

If you are a licensed massage therapist and wish to offer massage, you also need to download a sales agreement and submit it with your registration. You will need to provide your own table and find your own space. Proof of insurance will be required. PLEASE check with cabin mates before offering massage in your cabin. You can reserve a space in the sales area where women can sign up. Therapists keep 90% and give 10% to UUWS.
